“You must be Isha,” Caitlyn says kindly to the child, then addresses the mother. If Caitlyn notices the way Jinx’s eyes rove over her form, she doesn’t make any outward indication of it. “And you’re… Jinx, correct?”
“Uh…,” Jinx begins dumbly before mentally slapping herself. She can’t be gawking at her daughter’s ASL interpreter, even if the woman is stunning. That would be weird and unprofessional.
So, she dutifully clamps her jaw shut and plasters a lopsided smile onto her face. “That’s me. Jinx Lanes,” Jinx greets Caitlyn with a forced casualness and sticks out her hand for a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you in person.”
