Summary
Amate Yuzuriha longs to escape into the depths of space--to feel true freedom outside of her precious little life on the space colony Side 6. She thinks that with her chance encounters with the courier Nyaan and the mysterious pilot Shuji, and her unexpected dive into the world of Clan Battle, she's found that way.
At least, until her attempt to return from her first ClanBat gets her sucked once more into the Sparkles, which spit her out into a mirror image of Side 6--and, deeper still, into the strange space known as the Velvet Room. She discovers that the world she knows and has strived to escape is doomed to be destroyed by a yet unseen enemy. She is tasked by the master of the Velvet Room to traverse this Alter-Side in search of fellow lost souls (as well as the monstrous Shadows that populate the Side, some with sentience and some without) and gather enough power to combat the enemy when it arrives in one year's time.
As she tries to balance her new mission with her responsibilities on the real Side 6, Amate slowly uncovers new abilities, new troubles, and new resolve--much of which revolve around the enigmatic attendant of the Velvet Room, a man by the name of Édouard Mass...

Summary
