    Summary

It’s hard, at times, to keep playing at ignorance when the intrepid little moron dumps out the entire bundle of his sleek, downy-soft pelt in search of a new quill, but if he isn’t going to bring it up, Geralt’s certainly not going to pry, even though he does have to prompt the bard surreptitiously more than a few times when the flighty little pest evidently forgets all about his pelt and moves to happily trot along on his way, his freedom left behind in the dust. It’s a fine line Geralt walks, playing dumb while hyper-aware of the situation, but he manages to hold his peace and remain silent even when he wants to scold the selkie to be fucking careful. The bard babbles along at length throughout the day enough without prompting; gods forfend Geralt give him any sign of encouragement for more.

Still, despite Geralt’s best efforts, he finds that the selkie–who has chosen Jaskier as his name of all things–is growing on him.

It is, in a few words, fucking obnoxious.

(Jaskier is a selkie who is absolutely HORRIFIC at keeping up with his pelt) (lucky, then, that he has a witcher to do it for him)

    Summary

Supper secured and stuffed away in his trousers, he looks up to find the silver-haired stranger in the corner, the one person who hadn’t heckled him. The man is objectively gorgeous, with fascinating hair and a body that makes Jaskier’s mouth water a little.

Oh yes, he decides quickly, he will be climbing this stranger like a tree.

He’s a little wrong-footed when he works out that the stranger is a witcher with big scary swords Jaskier’s heard horror stories about, but after a quick moment of thought, he also thinks about how very many things the fae elders have been wrong about all his life and decides to ignore them once again. The witcher–Geralt of supposedly Rivia, even though Jaskier can tell from his accent that that’s a lie–tries to get rid of him, but Jaskier is nothing if he’s not determined, and he’s simply too damn interested to get scared off easily.

The witcher has clearly not realized that Jaskier is something to be hunted, and Jaskier, well, he’s never excelled at silly things like self-preservation.

    Summary

Jaskier has always felt a call towards music and the ocean, although he never knew why. It isn't until his first trip to the ocean, and an encounter with a rather violent Siren that he figures out why.
    X
Silver in the shape of a sword suddenly flashed through the water above him. It slashed down, easily slicing into the figure in front of him, causing a black, oil-like liquid to spurt into the water.

It was impossible to see now. He couldn’t tell which direction the surface was, even if he’d had enough strength left to swim towards it.

The claws left his face as an inhuman screeched pierced the water. Bubbles and waves rippled out from the figure until Jaskier was sure his ear drums would rupture.

Against his will he stopped singing and let his eyes close.

"Good-bye, Geralt," he thought, before everything disappeared.
