It’s hot, and Peter can’t help that he’s pissy about it. Everybody else gets pissy when it’s this hot, and collectively, the group they’ve decided to take it out on seems to be retail employees— i.e. Peter. Thus, he’s pissy.
Admittedly, standing outside on the deck, baking himself in the heat, isn’t helping matters, but that’s where he is when he feels Abbott sidle up behind him.
