Is this how they do it? Let you think you’ve made it, you’ve got away, when, really, they knew all along? Do they just delay the punishment until it’s convenient for them? They whip seam rats for stealing bread, what will they do to a girl conning Twelve’s elite for more money than most make in a year? What dreadful, agonising death is waiting for me in that arena?
Tansy Larkspur is a sweet, innocent merchant girl from District Twelve, whose priorities include baking lovely snacks, and getting along well with her neighbours.
She definitely isn't a thief, trying to keep her family afloat by any means necessary, and stay one step ahead of the law.
Either way, being thrust into the Hunger Games was not in her plans. In fact, it's something of an inconvenience.
What's a liar and a thief to do when she stands to lose everything she's worked for?
Betray everyone and look out for herself, of course.
