Vel kisses her like they’re at the edge of the world, watching it burn. Cinta presses her thigh against Vel’s; Vel could very well fight her off, but instead she melts, pliant, into her embrace. They are frenzied, mouths agape, necks and hands; the hot water is all around them like the firmament, like the stars, like the early morning clouds.
