When they find a way to make their avatars look like their human selves, everyone's happy to look human again, but that doesn't mean they love everything about their bodies.
(I plan to get into everyone's feelings about their bodies, but this is going to be mostly focus on Zooble's dysphoria, abstragedy's relationship because I love them, and on transfem Jax because I'm 1000% percent on the transfem Jax train. The later chapters especially are gonna be mainly transfem Jax. This is mostly a transfem Jax fic, the other stuff is just sprinkled in for flavor and variety and because I love them.)
[EDIT: this was mostly written before episode nine, so it uses my human designs rather than the canon ones. I don’t wanna go back through all the descriptions and retcon it.]

Summary
"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

Caine's been re-instated in the circus (don't worry about it) and to show his support for his human friends, he's giving them the chance to remember their human names! the only problem is, the way he took the memories of their names from them also took a few memories of their life that may have been important to their identities. So, naturally, he turns this trip down memory lane into it's own adventure
The one thing he asks is that no one walks into their memories alone. He knows enough about humans to know that thinking back on some memories requires a friend

' She can’t help her mind wandering though, back to a topic that’s been a frequent visitor in her mind for weeks now, relentlessly pounding against her skull.
Caine had come up to them two months prior, practically glitching with excitement, sharing that they may be able to potentially heal abstraction. He wasn’t positive, but he’d been working closely in the digital files of the Circus lately, giving himself something to do in between their regular activities. He found that the files of their lost friends still existed, but were corrupted, damaged, though fixable, if he was looking at it correctly at least. He couldn’t promise anything, but he had hope that they could actually do something.
This had caused excitement to rise within the group, eyes sparkling and discussion rampant. Voices had overlapped each other, and Pomni couldn’t help the heaviness on her chest of their most recent cast member lost lightening a bit at the positivity of the group, eyes drifting to the large circus tent he resided in most days, when he wasn’t in the aquarium with the others. '

There was no instant response as Jax buried his face into his knees. Jax was quiet as Pomni sat down, he took a very shaky breath and kept his head down. “Please… stop looking at me. I don’t want you to.”
She obeyed the order, looking at her own feet instead. “I’m sorry this adventure isn’t going your way.”
A small laugh, no movement. “Everyone probably thinks I’m being a little b[%$!#]tch.”

Summary
Things are a bit tense between some of the characters after the "They All Get Guns" adventure. However that doesn't stop Caine from sending the main cast on some sort of casino adventure that includes gambling, a bar, and a drag show in the background to set the mood.
Most of the members are guided to get high on stupid sauce and make dumb decisions – but under certain circumstances, Jax ends up stuck in the makeup chair. Being customized in the backstage dressing room.
And for some reason it’s… not as bad as he thought?The plot eventually includes some mild inspiration from "Purple Rain" by Prince if you couldn't tell lol.

After the events of episode 7, Caine comes to an agreement with the circus members: anyone who wishes to learn their names may do so willingly. Everyone rushed at the opportunity, but Jax held back. Once he could no longer delay the inevitable, he realised that learning the truth might be more difficult than he imagined.
