Mira frowns, pausing her scratching under Derpy's chin (he does not seem to mind. Or notice. Honestly, Mira's not exactly sure if the tiger is even aware that he's alive, sometimes…). “I’m not supposed to be cute. Zoey is cute-”
“Aw, thank you!”
“-you are cute, puppies are cute, Derpy is cute.”
“Mira you’re very, very cute,” Zoey disagrees loudly from where she’s poking at a pot on the stove.
“No, I- ugh. Whatever, not the point. Why did you two say that, anyway, about me being some closet romantic?”
Rumi blinks at her. “Because… you are?”
“I am not- when have you ever seen me fawn over someone opening a door?” Mira scoffs, resuming her ministrations on their fluffy visitor.
“Never, but-”
"So why did you do that? Now people think I'm some swooning idiot."
“Right, no- Mira, I meant that you like to do those things.”
“Duh,” Zoey calls helpfully from the kitchen.In which Mira decides to sweep Rumi and Zoey off their feet, and Rumi and Zoey are too stupid (affectionate) to realize it.

“You know she’ll never feel the same way about you,” Mon-El says, pulling his eyes away from Kara.
He’s trying to hurt her. Lena could laugh. As if he could. She’s a Luthor for crying out loud.
“Never. You have to know that?” he implores.
She smiles. “I’m the smartest person in every room I enter. I have three PhDs and I run a billion dollar company. I’m not a figurehead either, I manage the day-to-day operations. It sucks.”
He opens his mouth to interrupt, to tell her that none of those things make her worthy of Kara’s love. To point out everything she’s left out. Her namesake. Her past. But she simply raises her hand.
“Of course, I know, Mon-El. I’m not in the habit of ignorance. Why would I start now?”
OR
Kara and Mon-El are a couple. Lena tries to get over it. But her stupid dumb heart can’t stop beating for the blonde Kryptonian. And if she can’t have her, well she’ll be damned if she doesn’t at least help the asshole who can.

Summary
Day 5 of AUgust (Prompt 5: Petsitter). There are few people Lena hates more than Kara's wannabe-Dom Mon-El. She tried to give him a chance, truly, she did. But at this point, she'd have to lie to herself to find a single redeeming quality about him. Not that Kara would listen to any of her arguments.
Lena finally sees her chance when Mon-El asks her to petsit his little kitten. Pet play might not be her strongest suit, but really, what does it matter? She's doing it for the greater good, after all.
That she happens to have fallen in love with Kara? Well, that's beside the point.
