A tip about a unicorn, a nudge toward Acromantula eggs, and yes, Newt realized he was being led along a trail of breadcrumbs. He was more concerned for the creatures than with the Ministry's paranoia, the waves of political upheaval, the whiff of revolution in the air. Percival disagreed, of course; and then Theseus went and recruited Percival for some hush-hush mission.
Newt didn't fancy Percival becoming a part of the "Ministry Family," but he would support Percival--just as Percival had supported Newt over slow months of recovery from Grindelwald's influence, plagued by nightmares and gaps in his memories. Percival deserved a chance to resurrect his career. And splitting up had seemed the best option--until it wasn't.

It's 1927, and the newly reinstated co-DMLE Percival Graves travels to Paris to attend the Wizarding Congress regarding sightings of the escaped dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Uneasy with the situation back in NY, Graves is plagued by paranoia and by foreboding. His magic depleted and his position precarious, Graves expects trouble.
In Paris, he crosses paths with one Mr. Scamander, there to give a reading of his newly published and vastly successful bestiary.
And then with Grindelwald himself, who seems strangely intent upon recruiting the magizoologist...

Summary
This is the continuation of my story: The Inner Light - HP Style. The first chapter is a summary of the previous story, so if the tags speak to you, you should be able to read it without too much confusion.
It is an exploration of the aftermath of the war, and how everyone deals with it. The main character is Severus Snape, who survived the war, but there will be chapters about other characters too. I needed some OCs to tell the story I wanted to tell because I didn't want to entirely rewrite canon characters to fit.
I address the changing world, try to find solutions to the most blatant problems the wizarding world has without making it too easy, and fokus on character developement and growth.
Alas, I felt writing a simple slice of life type story was boring as heck, so since I love torturing my characters, there are vicious attacks on Severus Snape, and they have to find out who it is. It turns out, there's more to it than the eye can see, and someone might lead a dark cabal to derail any changes in the wizarding world.

Incredible worldbuilding and follow through, plotting, details, foreshadowing, pacing, characters so much more satisfying in their development and their relationships and their arcs. Deserves far more recognition, and also rereading. So much good stuff here, hard to do it justice.... yes, definitely a reread.
Also a rare treasure that took me more than a few days to get through, despite my usual slapdash pace with such things. Had to slow down and savor. Too good. Philosophically, ethically, aesthetically, just thoroughly satisfying. Eerily so, but damn, it's good. Just what I did not know I wanted when I first searched for "Snape Redemption" tag. Hector Flint, Moody, just so many unexpected clever twists and turns that in retrospect are perfect. A real cathedral of suspense and narrative, beautifully created as if it always existed. Exactly the kind of inventive creative and satisfying mind that improves on what was lacking in the original. Much needed, imo. Thank you for this.
Has moments that reminded me of the cartoon Monsters Inc, in the most satisfying and rather sophisticated way, haha. <3
