“-- do that now, do we?!” A voice comes through that is decidedly not Present Mic’s and definitely not one of his guests. There is an audible commotion and a grunt to be heard.
“Scream for your listeners, Present Mic.” the voice snarls and Shouta can hear Hizashi gasp as he is shoved against the microphone. Obviously, Hizashi does not scream.

Shouta is tired.
His damn class keep getting into trouble. Every time they're hurt, he has to make the journey down to the hospital to sign paperwork and sit outside the room to wait for them to be discharged. It's a pain. It makes him anxious. It gives him headaches. He just wants a nap.
Unfortunately, someone has other ideas. Hizashi Yamada, a patient at the hospital, turns up every time to keep him company. Hizashi is smarter than he looks - and he might just be smart enough to help save some of Shouta's precious kids. Shouta can't help it if he starts to find the man endearing.
But Hizashi is keeping something from him. Hizashi never leaves the hospital.
Something about this situation... isn't right.

It was easy to forget sometimes, how long they had known each other because one would assume that after 15 years a friendship like this got old. Of course, it was a stupid assumption to make: Shouta and Hizashi had been through thick and thin and even though they didn’t exactly blend, it worked. Yes, Hizashi was loud, brash even, but Shouta needed the noise, and Hizashi needed the quiet.
What Hizashi didn't need, however, were these stupid flowers ruining it all.

Summary
Hizashi has always been an upbeat cat; vocal, loud, energetic, and always eager to wake up his owner early in the morning for breakfast. Despite his past experiences with a bad owner, he trusts his new one, Nemuri, with his safety and his life. She gives him love, care, food, and water, so why would he need anything else? His life is perfect. But then… Nemuri comes back home with a new cat, and Hizashi has no clue what to do.
Shouta has been a street cat his whole life, constantly avoiding humans because that’s what his mother told him to do before she was taken away. She always told him that humans were monsters, drilling this fact into his brain so many times that any time he caught a glimpse of one in his alleyway, he’d find shelter in another one. He has to be logical and rational to survive, or else he’ll get killed. But once he finds himself injured and freezing to death after a storm, he has no fight in him when human hands pick him off the ground and bring him somewhere new.

Hizashi and Shouta are cats, and Shouta has to adjust to living the life of a housecat while Hizashi has to befriend the most antisocial and aggressive feline he’s ever met.

This wouldn't have been an issue if it had been any other day.
Hizashi would have seen the signs of someone following him. He would have noticed the shadow following his path, would have seen the person in his peripheral, and the soft footsteps would have been picked up by his hearing aids. He might have had a faster reaction time too, and wouldn't have let them use their quirk to get him to comply.
He certainly wouldn’t be trapped here, muzzled and hands bound behind his back, locked in an unknown room only god knows where.
But it wasn't any other day; Hizashi hadn't picked up on the signs.

He can't ask for help, he can't tell Shouta what's wrong. Each day gets worse than the last. A casual phrase, carelessly tossed at him, could mean his death.
All he can do is sit tight and hope Shouta figures out what's going on. But the clock is ticking, and it turns out Shouta might be more of a danger to Hizashi than either of them know...

The child only glances at him, chewing his lip with anxious eyes like he’s done something wrong, before making his move on their sand board. “Iz-Izuku. What’s your name, M-Mr?”
“Aizawa Shouta. Nice to meet you, Izuku-kun.” Manners taste weird, Shouta decides as he gives a polite nod.
Yamada and Aizawa have been married for three years now, together for five, and despite still being fairly young and just getting a handle on being pro heroes they’ve decided they want to start a family together, starting by going to a children’s home for a visit and playing with the kids to figure out what they’re getting into, with the intent of eventually adopting when their careers become stable. But no one told them that sometimes it's the kid that chooses, not the parents, and the universe is a bit impatient to see a certain green haired child's happiness.
