To recap:
Dan struggled with insecurities regarding Lucifer once Chloe came into the picture. Then he realized life was better once they were all together. Trixie was told the truth, and took it better than anyone expected. The Goddess revealed to Zach that Dan had left her a gift in the form of a daughter. After Zach and Maze returned to Hell, this news made its way to Lucifer, and he went on a rampage in his penthouse and muted his connection with Dan. They worked it out. Then Chloe shook things up by suggesting that the daughter was actually theirs. A difficult pill to swallow, but one that they grew to accept with open minds and open hearts. But not all could be bliss. The Goddess brought up the proverbial elephant in the room: Dan and Chloe's brief lifespans weighed against Lucifer's immortality, and his consistent avoidance with facing anything difficult.
