Summary
Past life memories can be inconvenient, especially when they’re awakened on accident by meddling gods. Past life memories that give you just enough information to be dangerous to the various bad guys, but not enough to act on that without risking a lot of lives with unknown gains? Inconvenient, stressful, and not great for sleep.
Once, I was Tanya of Earth, a relatively new fan of Final Fantasy 14 after I got introduced to the story by Shadowbringer. Now I’m Tomoyo the Raen, formally of Othard, now of the La Noscea archipelago. And now, I’m the Warrior of Light, best of a bunch of bad options according to the Mothercrystal.
My knowledge is spotty, my axe is sharp, and I’ve got a drive to learn and a new appreciation for all things magic and weird. If only I’d spoiled myself on Endwalker instead of holding off hoping to play it after release.
But hey, I’ve got my own chocobo. That’s got to count for something, right?

“I used to ask Judge every day what I did to deserve this,” King thunders. “Do you know what he finally told me?!”
Sanji’s chest wracks with something dangerously close to a sob. “He said it’s because you were born!”
And despite all his grace, King stumbles –– like an angel cast out of heaven, taking his first wobbly steps on mortal ground. It’s clear he thought the question was rhetorical from the way he wavers, “How did you know that?” like he hadn’t even expected an answer, let alone the right one.
Sanji tries to respond, but he looks at King and sees a twisted science experiment, and sees––god, fuck, himself. Sees a man who spent his childhood strapped to a surgical table, and it was the closest thing he had to being held.
This is it. He has nothing left to hide. Sanji reaches a precious hand into the Pandora’s box inside his soul and rips it open, lets the ruins fly.
“Because he said the same thing to me!”

In an alternate universe, King fights Sanji instead of Zoro during the Raid on Onigashima. There, they discover how true the phrase 'I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy' can really be.

Sora doesn’t know if the drug she drank is a success until she finally gives birth and two of her five babies are crying.
Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji are silent as corpses, but her little Sanji hiccups around light coos, and her tiny Gomako wails.
Three months later, when Gomako finally joins her brothers in their playpen, Niji will yank on his sister’s hair and bite her wrist to the bone so that she may relinquish his favorite toy.
Gomako doesn’t even flinch. She simply tosses the toy in the opposite corner of the playpen and toddles over to the doctors so that they may look at her wrist and check it for infection. And Sora will see this and despair, because her husband and his pet scientists robbed her daughter of everything.
