Summary
A magical artifact said to show alternate lives God has elsewhere granted is passing near Kembleford, and Father Brown has spent weeks wrestling with the temptation it poses- a very real, non-theoretical temptation, as Flambeau has already written him to say he'll be passing through just after Christmas, and there can be no possibility the closeness of those events is unrelated.
Given the opportunity, how can he pass up knowing if elsewhere, they may have had a life together?
He can't; of course he can't- but the matter of accepting what he sees and what it mean for the world he's got, that's something else entirely.

Summary
Prince Aziraphale of Eden loves books- they've been a constant source of companionship and comfort in a life that is otherwise undeniably cold. His family tolerates him, and none of his relationships have ever panned out- not the ones his family's tried to set him up with, or even the ones he tried for on his own until he realized finding interest in him rather than his title was harder to come by than he'd hoped.
Crowley doesn't have much invested in books- at least, not in most books. There's one he's quite fond of for the lifeline it gave him when he was small, but other than that his mother's library isn't of much interest to him. He's busy with his plants, his magic, and his business- and sure, he's wanted more than that and it hasn't worked, but it's not any good for him to dwell on that, is it? There's not many people willing to be seen openly in public with someone like him, not in a small village at any rate, and he loves Tadfield.
Without Agnes Nutter's vision, the two of them might never have met, and that would have been a tragedy- but this isn't a tragedy. It's a Christmas story, and they're both going to get exactly what they need. (64% complete; will be updated again when it's complete)

Summary
Crowley has wanted nothing more than to be everything to and for Aziraphale for the last 6,000 years. If Falling wasn't proof enough that God hates him, having the opportunity to finally, finally have the intimacy with Aziraphale he's wanted and having to spend it discussing the end of the world is more than enough to drive the point home.
And still, he'll do it, because the world is worth it, sure- but Aziraphale is worth it most of all. He just has to survive until they save the world. Again.

In 1970, Crowley met Freddie Mercury, then met him again, and again, until the meeting became something that was far more than meeting, and too much like love for anything Crowley was supposed to be allowed.
In 2022, Crowley watched Aziraphale walk away from him, at which point his blasted car decided the only thing he'd be allowed to hear was a song written by a human he loved, about the angel Crowley had loved from the dawn of his memories.
There are things we can't get back once they're gone, but sometimes, once in a great while, faith and perseverance can bring about something that feels like reconstruction. Sometimes, we get another chance.
