Summary
Captain Rossi does not like Thrawn. Captain Rossi sends Thrawn (and his aide 🙄🙄🙄) on missions that nobody else will take. Captain Rossi does not need to know the precise details of what happens on said missions.
This is the omitted part of the after-action report that truly explains the bite mark on Eli's neck and how it was treated on the field with no medpac in sight. Don't tell Captain Rossi.

Summary
The one time Eli loses his cool, it's in the face of a gang of lieutenants that never really graduated from the Imperial Academies, at least not in terms of their maturity. It is not the first time Eli faces retribution for simply standing in Thrawn's shadow, but it certainly turns out to be one of the more unpleasant encounters. However, it does allow Eli to see a side of Thrawn that he never would have learned of otherwise, and it gives Eli a free pass to release some of that rigidness he always holds himself with in the presence of his superior. Maybe acquainting himself with the taste of garbage is worth it if he can taste a Chiss's fingers too.

Summary
When your superior is a smoking hot specimen of an alien, it is perfectly reasonable to have inappropriate dreams about him. After all, it's not like Eli can control his subconsciousness or his body's response to his spectacular imagination. What is perhaps slightly less socially acceptable is the consequence of getting turned on in the presence of said superior, who also happens to have a more sensitive nose than the average human. (Spoiler alert: post-nut clarity only happens after the nut.)
