One year from the point of view of Pattie.
The title is the phrase coined by Queen Elizabeth II after a particularly awful year for her. This fic isn't to suggest that this was Pattie's worst year; just a difficult one.

Summary
Pattie has told us in her book that, having been dumped by Eric Clapton, Charlotte Martin was invited to come and stay with Pattie and George. Once there Charlotte immediately made a play for George, he joined in willingly and Pattie left to stay with a friend until George eventually threw Charlotte out. It all sounded so unpleasant that I felt like writing a fic around it, to perhaps introduce a bit of sense into the situation.
The basic events are as told by Pattie, but this story is my invention completely.
The title is from an album by Pink Floyd. It seemed to match the situation as I saw it.

From the age of about 11 or 12 George Harrison had a best friend called Arthur Kelly. George and Arthur stayed friends until well into later years. George even named his haircut after him! If he was important enough in George's life to inspire a haircut, I thought that he could have a brief fic as well.

A while ago I wrote a story in which, a year after his death, George Harrison returns to talk to Pattie. After someone suggest it I thought I'd do that again, only with John returning. This is just as daft; but it gives them a way to clear up a few differences between them. As we wish they'd been able to do before John was taken from us.

In late 1963 and early 1964 George Harrison had a relationship with Estelle Bennett of the Ronettes. We then heard no more about it, though Estelle later spoke very fondly about it. So I wondered what happened, and this is one idea, considering the time it was, of what might have happened.
