    Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.

    “Mm. Wait-” Ilya said under his breath, breaking the kiss to remove his earbuds and pause the music that was still playing.

    “What were you listening to?” Shane asked softly, placing his other hand on the back of Ilya’s neck.

    “Ah- uhm, nothing,” Ilya blurted out a bit too quickly and a bit too loudly. Shane looked at him quizzically, but before he had time to figure out what was happening, Ilya went in for another kiss. This time, Shane was the one to break away.

    “Ilya, tell me,” he giggled quietly.

    “I told you, is nothing. Now kiss me some more,” he said, trying to shut Shane up.

    “Ah ah ah,” Shane scolded playfully, wagging a finger and taking a step back, “not unless you tell me what you were listening to.” Ilya felt warmth creep across his cheeks, and he silently prayed that Shane wouldn’t notice. He noticed immediately, though, because of course he did. “Oh my god, are you embarrassed?!” Shane let out a loud, exasperated laugh. “You’ve gotta be kidding me. Ilya, we’re married. What could you possibly be listening to that you would be embarrassed to tell me about? What, is it Shake It Off?” He grinned playfully.
