Summary
“Ah, he just ran off somewhere. It'll be fine, son.” Dutch waved a dismissing hand.
“I’ll go find him,” Arthur grumbled, replacing his scarf with a small huff, "I guess."
Dutch laughed, the kind that probably meant something but that Arthur was not going to pretend to understand. Some untold truth, a subtle irony, and for a second Arthur felt he could understand it. Then he pushed the thought aside and marched outside.

Summary
Dutch had betrayed him. Betrayed them. Tried to kill him and Arthur, to leave them to the Pinkertons. Only to follow Micah again, that goddamn snake. After all Arthur and him had given him? All they did for him?
It made John sick.
The feeling of Arthur’s hat on his head had only worsened the feeling. It weighed a ton.

Summary
Lan Wangji had gone back to sleep. Not even Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi’s help in the kitchen could get Lan Wangji to finish breakfast, and he had certainly not wanted them reheated; his taste got significantly more picky the deeper the sickness sunk in, and his lips had zipped shut with a stubborn pout that made Wei Wuxian want to kiss it away if he wasn’t so worried.
The last time he tried to care for someone, it broke into war. The last time he tried to care for someone, his shijie died.

Summary
Ten years after Steve returns from war, a man he thought dead arrives on his doorstep.
-Five years of training himself to live with the constant buzzing underneath his skin, the emptiness, the nightmares. The memory of a man he hasn’t spoken the name of in just as long.
He can hardly bring himself to even think the name now. Instead he thinks around it. Conceptualizes every letter with a memory. A smile for an E. A gasped breath for a D. The blur of tears obscuring his view of the ocean battering the side of the ship for every letter after.
He even tries to force himself into doing the thing. Say the name. Just say it, he orders himself.
He opens his mouth. Nothing comes out.
Steve smokes the cigarette down to nothing.
