Tucking herself under one of Zane’s arms, Sora curled up into his side and gripped tightly onto the front of his gi. “Please,” she croaked out as her throat began to close up. “Please don’t leave me alone, Master Zane.” Childish urges she thought she’d squashed when she was a kid resurfaced and Sora inhaled a shaky breath to keep her tears at bay. She laid her head just by the crook of Zane’s neck and squeezed the fabric in her grip tighter.
Sora shut her eyes tightly and tried to make herself smaller. A whisper fell from her lips, drowning in the darkness of the alleyway.
“I’m scared.”!OR!

Izuku doesn’t like hospitals, he decides.
And from the way Eri dashes over to cling to him when the nurse exits the room, she doesn’t either.
They’re too much like the Shie Hassaikai base: pristine walls, operating tables, plastic chairs, too-bright fluorescent lights, medical equipment scattered throughout a room that was eerily similar to what his cell was like. The doctors and nurses are different, sure. They are nicer than the Precepts or Overhaul but some of them still look at him with disdain or fear. He understands that he looks like a monster but he’d much rather they treat him like one than trying to go about their duties pretending they aren’t scared of him.
At least the Precepts were vocal about their hatred towards him.

Hospitals and two traumatized children don't mix.

Midoriya Izuku hates himself.
He knows it’s unhealthy to think in such a pessimistic way but years of being under scrutiny would do that to you, he likes to think. He hates his quirk. He hates the experiments and the tests and all the needles and that damned gigli saw that’s always used to sever his wings; the only protection he ever has within his cell when they’re fully regrown. Izuku hates that Overhaul only chose him due to his ‘heinous quirk’ just to see if Izuku could lose it through trials and test-runs that always ended with his wings removed from his body. He hates the way the frayed nerves feel and how his back feels too light without the dense appendages he’d grown fond of in captivity.
He hates that he was ever born.
Midoriya Izuku hates and hates and hates.
“Izu?”
But Midoriya Izuku also loves Eri.
