Summary
Has Ivan ever played chess? No. Does he even know what chess is? Also no.
Somehow, though, he performs so many mental gymnastics everyday that he might as well be constantly playing 4D chess against himself. As Sua would say, Ivan ‘thinks a lot for someone who acts like he’s never had a thought in his life.’
…Then Ivan falls in love with Till. The chess playing becomes ten times more violent.
–
And so commences his master plan to make Till happy – a plan that happens to take 23+ years, a brief football career, taming a dragon using quantum physics, several war crimes, and very, very, very close brushes with death.

Summary
The cheering of the aliens in the audience sounds a lot like rain, Till thinks, and he wonders if this is how Ivan felt. If he felt as much solace as Till does now, dying with someone at his side. Bastard.
The world bursts with colors, vibrant life. Artificially green grass and blue skies with lazily floating clouds. He's standing in the middle of a field barefoot, with the familiar weight of a collar on his throat. The same one he died wearing. In front of him is Mizi, hand in hand with Sua, who Till remembers died like a firework show--a beautiful spectacle that tore apart everything it touched. The first thing Till does is to turn around, to turn away from the star that mesmerized and blinded him, and at his back is--
Black eyes, wide with surprise, fingers curled into the bark of a tree just meters away. So, so close.
Maybe God hasn't abandoned us after all.
His ears pop. Blood streams from his nose, a steady trickle.
Ivan catches him when he faints.
If there's anything Till is, it's stubborn and a tad vindictive.
(They really should have killed him right the first time.) -

Summary
Ivan wakes up. He's lying on a stiff cot in a small, weathered room. The air smells of mildew and moss and a faint hint of smoke.
There's a residual pounding thrumming in the back of his skull, and irate pains throughout his body. He's bandaged so tightly in certain areas that he can hardly move. Perhaps the most miraculous thing about this, even more so than his recovery, is a calloused hand resting gently on Ivan's thigh.
Till is sleeping next to him, his head supported by the side of the bed. Ivan wishes he could say that the other man looks peaceful or well-rested, but the purple of his under eyes and his sharp cheekbones say anything but. Something inside Ivan's chest aches, a yearning that has gone undisputed since the day he laid eyes on the guitarist.
"...Till?"

(I want to laugh with him until we're both breathless and my face is red. I want to go skating with him and hold hands on the ice. I want to spend my 23rd birthday with him. And then the rest of my life too. My everything. My angel.)
Or: Ivan's attempt to break out of his lifelong yearning arc. Keyword, "attempt"

Summary
“So…” Hyuna says, clearly trying to keep the devious smirk off her face. “No hear-me-outs, huh?”
“I already said, I’m here for business only,” Till retorts quickly. “And plus, he’s the Demon General. No matter what he looks like, don’t you think that’s totally wrong?”
“‘No matter what he looks like?’ So, you DO think he’s hot!”
“What? No! Hyuna, I’m not gonna fuck our enemy!”

Or,
Till is a disgraced warlock determined to slay the Demon King. Ivan is the Demon General who stands resolutely in his way. Turns out, they have a lot more in common than he may have ever expected.
