Summary
This is the canonical storyline if Fukuzawa accepted Fukuchi's plea to join the war efforts. The war drags on as he doesn't assassinate the leaders to end it. He never meets Ranpo, and the Armed Detective Agency was never founded. Ranpo ends up working with Oda when he realized he can't be left alone due to attempts at his life. They end up joining the port mafia where they quickly rise in ranks.

Instead of attending college, Poe was drafted into the war effort at 18, where he quickly got promoted due to his intellect. When he finally escapes from it, he joins the Guild. Hardened by the war, he plots to take over the Guild. Being their most intelligent member and having gained leadership experience, he rose to the top. Gaining the fear and respect of the members. His Goal? Get the book and rewrite history so that damn war never happened. -

Summary
They say happiness is often based on one's relationships with other people; and they're probably right. The issue is that Edgar Allan Poe doesn't have the best relationships of any kind, and at some point, he has no kind of relationship whatsoever. He's unhappy and slowly becomes an addict of mostly anything you could be an addict to -- cigarettes, drugs, women, you name it. But that all changes when a major change is made in his life against his will.
They also say that love and hate are two very close emotions. If you don't have a bit of both, you have none. And that's another issue. Yet this new issue gives him the chance to be finally happy; and he wants to be happy so bad that he gets a new addiction.
There is this certain someone who gives Poe something worth living for.
But at what cost?
