Summary
Keigo had to be expected to put up with his wings being touched a lot. The fans would want to touch them, his handlers had explained, so he needed to get used to it. That meant hours upon hours of being forced to sit still without moving a muscle as hands carded through them - roughly and gently, yanking out feathers or caressing them tenderly, until he didn’t shudder and try to pull away.
It was hard. Little Keigo hated it - his wings were sensitive, and he’d leave those sessions feeling like every part of his body was stinging, his wings throbbing worst of all and a headache steadily growing behind his eyes. But it was part of the training - if Keigo wanted to be a hero, he had to put up with it.
Over ten years later, Pro-Hero Hawks was a master at maintaining his composure. Villains, overzealous civilians… he could deal with all of it without twitching a single feather.
That did not, by any means, mean that he liked it.
In fact, on a day like today, Keigo hated it.OR,
