Had Lucy known who Karen was sooner, she doesn't think she'd have been so easy to let her spirits fight beside her, she would be too overcome with fear and anxiety that she could possibly turn into that.
However, she isn't like Karen. She knows this deep in her heart, and she refused to let herself get consumed with such silly thoughts! She knew what she could do to make Loke feel better; treat him to a spa day! She doesn't often do this, usually about once a month to keep her keys well taken care of and show them just how much she appreciates their hard work and help with her in more than just battles, but she decided Leo deserved it a little early as a treat for everything he's been through.
Lucy Heartfilia notices Loke's key, upon being reforged by the Celestial Spirit King after allowing her friend back to the stars, was a little damaged from his poor state of self before returning. She decides it would be best for her to help welcome him to her side by giving him a cleaning and repair.

“Garroth, come on, keep your hips still for me.” Gene chided almost playfully in his lighthearted tone, grinning up at him like he was drunk on the sight of him struggling to keep still.
Then, it was like a light switch clicked in him, eyes almost literally lighting up as he grinned wider at Garroth.
“Actually, that’s a good idea. You’re such a genius, Gar.” He cooed, and before the man could sob at the toy being pulled away his body was being jerked on top of Gene who had laid himself on his back, looking up at the larger with a cocky smirk that had become his trademark. “Go on, fuck it.”
Gene and Garroth are both freaks, and Gene aims to pull that out of Garroth by any means necessary. And of course he can't do that without teasing him - it's mandatory.

Summary
Garroth’s eyes flickered to his pistol, sitting idly by Laurance’s feet. There was one bullet. If he shot Laurance, he’d be ripped apart by his loyal band of mercenaries, or be handed to the navy for murder. If he shot himself, some poor bugger would have to do his job and clean his brains off the deck; the only problem was that he’d be stuck on the ship forever, haunting Laurance and his dreadfully boring conversations.
“I’d rather you shoot me,” he said instead, and flopped back in his seat, eyes squeezed shut.
The last thing he expected was the cool metal of his own pistol pressed against his temple. It was the click of the hammer that had his eyes shooting open.
“I can do that,” Laurance breathed. He was so close now that Garroth could smell the sweet ale on his breath. He drank it in. “But first, you owe me.”

As usual, things do not go to plan. Somehow, neither finds themselves complaining all that much—despite Garroth's broken leg.
