Absolutely splendid fic I didn't think I would go for. Loved it from beginning to end. The whole process of bringing Sollux back to himself was a wonder to read through and Eridan's stubbornness and assholishness are here endearing, when tempered with adulthood and the understanding of all he stood to, and did, lose. These two disasters deserve each other. Also, moirallegience for the win.

Peak. Best Damian's point of view I've ever seen. Get across the fucked up of his trained hyper-competency. How that a major structural feature of his self-concept. He's a partner to his father. He wants to be valuated as such. He has tremendous knowledge and experience on specific topics. He is ten. The level of granular details in this (about mountaineering, the environment, the dangers) really anchors the story, makes its climax especially harrowing and rewarding.
