While they have confessed their mutual attraction, Hope, fully aware of their separate objectives and responsibilities, chooses not to entertain a relationship with Noel. However, the damage has already been done: likely due to the effect of a paradox, Hope manifests the Eyes of Etro at the same moment he learns of a plot on his life. Noel volunteers to remain behind to protect him, and Serah and Snow set off on their own new journey.
Who is it that seeks to end Hope's life, and for what reason? What objective has Lightning set now for Snow and Serah? What visions will Hope be made to see, and can the paradox be resolved before the Eyes take their toll?
The questions remain.

At first, his recovery looked promising. But then Ventus fell ill again. It all started with a headache. Soon, his legs would fail him, too weak to carry him around. Then came his incoherent talk of a graveyard, of monsters that lurked around and watched him sleep, of the nightmares that plagued his mind and the voice that shouted at him.
