    As his breathing turned rapid and labored, he felt the unmistakable presence of a foreign force pulling him through a closed door. He heard a lock. Before his mind could process the occurrence, he was suddenly enveloped - caught in the unyielding grip of two powerful arms - unforgivingly tight. He couldn’t see who, he could barely process where and why, but he felt himself shaking and his eyes burning and leaking raindrops on the shoulder of the force who squeezed tighter. Minutes passed, who knows how many, in complete silence other than the gasps coming from Shane as he sobbed. When he felt his heart reach a relatively normal pace, and the drumming in his ears quieted, he felt himself melt for a moment in the arms he still hadn’t recognized until he heard the voice. “Hollander, you are having panic attack.” Shane froze.

    Ilya hesitated, staring at the number. He was captain of Hollander’s new team. It would have been completely normal, if not expected, that he would reach out to him soon. But his hand had turned to lead, his finger hovering over the “Call” button. What would he even say?

    “Hey Hollander. Sorry your team dumped you out of nowhere after building them a dynasty and you’re being shipped back to your hometown to play on an historically shitty team, captained by me, the guy who you’ve been pitted against your whole career and built up a decade’s worth of resentment towards, not to mention the fact that we sucked each other’s dicks that one time years ago and then pretended that it never happened. Haha, yeah, good times. Anyways. See you at practice.”

    “Yes.”

    Rozanov looks very relaxed, surrounded by his team, casually indulging rookies like he has all the time in the world.

    “Now, uh, you grade it out of ten. Not the person, like—not how hot the person was, but how good the sex was, yeah?”

    “Would be same answer anyway,” Rozanov says easily. “Twelve.”
