Summary
The ocean has always been a mysterious yet calming place for Jim Hawkins. He’s lived with his mother since his parents got divorced when he was little for reasons he doesn’t know. Life had been normal until a girl named Emma washed up on his backyard after a bad storm.
After staying with the Hawkins, she managed to convince Jim to do something he hasn’t done before, go swimming. It’s then that Jim learns that old stories about mermaids are true. They exist and now they must uncover the secrets that were kept so well hidden.

Emma is a girl with a horrible past and uncertain future. She's stranded in a horrible excuse of an orphanage, or prison more likely, with the head lady as insane as ever. She treats all the children like slaves, working them to the bone. She kicks them out at twelve years old finding any child above the age useless.
Her only escape is what is expected of a typical tween. Fiction. She loves books, movies, video games, anything to distract her from her horrible life. Walt Disney's Treasure Planet happens to have a soft spot in her heart.
Some how she finds herself in the world of the movie! It seems like things are going right but the uncertainty she had about her family is coming apart.
