Summary
Lune thought that life would be easy after the Paintress was defeated. Now with no Gommage looming and her whole life ahead of her, things are somehow much more complicated. Can she help Gustave live again? Can she forgive Verso for everything he did? Is it worth loving someone new when the world is not as she thought it was? It turns out that the answers to life's most pressing questions cannot be found in the lab. She will have to figure it out another way.

Summary
Maelle took over the Canvas, which Verso has several issues with. 1) He's still alive, 2) Maelle won't leave, 3) he has complicated feelings for a man he let die, 4) that man has been resurrected and fucking hates him, and 5) that man has been showing up at his house uninvited when he's fucked up. He really didn't think he'd be alive to face the consequences of his actions, but he is. The guilt has hardened into a pit which has taken up permanent residency in his chest. Unfortunately, he has no option but to keep going.

Clea decided to visit her sister in the Canvas and see if she would come home. Much to her surprise, she came across the Painted copy of her brother with his husband. She had never considered that Lumiere was not an exact copy of Paris with all the same laws and customs. Intrigued by the thought of no longer living in shadow and knowing they had homosexuality in common, Clea decided to actually get to know Painted Verso more. After all, the conflict was over and they no longer needed to make desperate choices. Now they could focus on Maelle.

Summary
It has been 8 months since Maelle kicked her family out of the Canvas and chose to stay. Gustave's friends and family have all embraced their second chance at life but Gustave is struggling to accept their new reality. He has thrown himself into his work to keep his mind off of everything but now he has been tasked with collecting study samples from the Continent. No one else is able or willing to join him on the trip and travelling alone is unsafe. Luckily, Maelle convinced Verso to go so Gustave could have someone to watch his back. Gustave and Verso have never really spoken and barely know each other, but a whole month on the Continent together is enough time to change that.
5 times Gustave had to be on corpse management duty + 1 time Verso had to instead
