It’s as if he hates everything about Zack by default. Being extroverted. Being successful. Being friendly. Spreading positive energy. As if those are negative qualities.
Zack isn’t unreasonable. He knows that not everyone has to like him, so he’s not entitled to that, but the fact that this one guy hates him so much - well, it drives him nuts all the same.
Zack Fair doesn’t get why this one guy hates him so bad.

During the day, he works at Corneo’s cuisine, a restaurant not too far from his place, it’s good pay, but apparently not good enough, so he picks up night shifts at a gas station out in the middle of nowhere.It’s more or less the same boring routine for a few months after he picks up this job, no signal, nobody to talk to, just rude customers who drive out to restock their gas or buy supplies every now and then.
