Summary

Abusing Luo Binghe was not a misunderstanding, though, and Shen Yuan will do whatever he can to correct the fact that he wasn't there to protect Luo Binghe when it happened.

Masterfully done. Completely written from binghes POV, and that really allows you to see how batshit fucking confusing SY is from literally any other perspective. But also! Binghe unwillingly, inevitably falling for this ridiculous creature who is simultaneously omniscient about him and the most oblivious fool is such a great downward spiral to cackle and cry over. Literally watching him lose his whole mind over this *fucking guy* for no reason other than SY is nice, and that’s impossible to comprehend.
SY is so competent here too, making and enacting plans that make subsequent read throughs a delight to catch onto. He’s shown to be strategic and clever, while still being kind which I think is core to who SY is. Single-handedly the best characterization I’ve seen of SY, without ever entering his POV! Insane!

The sense of humor in this fic is magnifique. It so absolutely suits xie lians characterization with the bluntness. I love the idea of him being outwardly so polite and internally the most ruthless cutting petty bitch without ever acknowledging that he is in fact said petty bitch.
Also him and San langs interactions here are very sweet, (it’s hualian so that’s a given), but also have a good sense of pacing.

He... He had misheard, right? Definitely. For a moment he thought Gwaine had said... No. Absolutely not.
