As the company leaves the safety of Beorn's home, Bilbo lets slip (in polite conversation) that romantically, he favours males over females - after a stunned silence, the dwarves lay down their arms, and begin a massive and hectic brawl.
Bilbo is pulled gently away to watch but is nervous and confused, he finally finds out that he is essentially the prize of this 'honour fight'.

Sam had always been in love with Frodo but Frodo has never seemed to notice, Sam’s need for Frodo almost feels like a physical pain. One night he his helping a heavily intoxicated Frodo home from The Green Dragon, they make it to Bag End but before Sam can open the door Frodo moans another hobbit’s name before leaning forward eyes closed with alcohol and kisses Sam, it’s brief and sloppy due to Frodo’s intoxication. Sam now has to decide whether he will be honourable and help his drunken friend to bed, or give in to a dark impulse and take advantage of Frodo thinking he was some other hobbit lad
