this is a oneshot but ao3 has a stupid 500,000 character limit on chapters so now its a twoshot and yes, im bitter about this. so chapter 1 just ends at an arbitrary spot in the middle of the fic and continues at chapter 2 bc i cannot be fucking bothered to chapter this shit out properly

Summary
After getting physically assaulted during a climate protest, Xiao Xingchen returns home to Tian Shan, his guardian's house in the English countryside, to pick up the pieces. Unfortunately, it turns out the past he tried to escape is still there, too - namely his ex, Xue Yang, with whom he had an ill-fated relationship back when they were teenagers.
Song Lan moved from the city and everything he has lost to craft a new life in the area. He can focus on his hobby, showjumping, and try to ignore that his horse is owned by a rumoured gangster. Summary
