Summary
When they woke up, they were running. Even though pain surged through their legs, they grit their teeth and continued. Frantically, as if being chased, they ran, even if their body was screaming at them to stop. In some twisted way, they relished it, a form of punishment for having done little in the sekai, for their utter uselessness. They swallowed down the ache. Fire was spreading inside them, frying their nerves to ash. They couldn’t tell if the wetness on their cheeks was sweat or tears.
As streets passed them by, they powered onwards, the thud of shoes against asphalt. What were they running from, exactly? What even was the time right now? Mind made a jumble, they could hardly piece together thoughts, operating on the instinct to escape, to find a place of safety before their legs gave in.
Mizuki finally leaves the sekai after what seems like forever. They end up almost breaking a door down, and in the process, gain some peace of mind.
SPOILERS for the 5th Mizuki focus event
