Summary
One thing led to another, clothes came off, and there he was – head between Vash's thighs and learning all the beautiful sounds he could make – and that was where things fell apart.
Wolfwood had added fingers while his mouth continued to lap at Vash's clit, and he should have noticed something was different. Should have picked up on it sooner. But he was focused on the physical – on trying to remember the right motions, on not making a complete fool of himself. He was preoccupied. Determined. And it took him a shameful while to realize Vash had gone weirdly quiet.
There were no more murmurs of encouragement. No moans. Just panting breaths that he was suddenly a lot less certain were from excitement.

Summary
There had been tension before, but in the absence of a contract and an implicit reason to be together, the knowledge that Wolfwood had searched for two and a half years and tracked Vash down of his own volition, and the knowledge that Vash had dreamed of Wolfwood during their years apart, even when the trauma from the July incident was so powerful that it washed out Vash’s memories of almost everything else…
Tension is putting it lightly. They’ve been closer. They’ve been—fucking feels far too crude of a word for it, even in Wolfwood’s own head. What he feels for Vash is too powerful to be written off as… attraction. Desire. Though both of those are certainly present as well. They haven’t actually put a real word to it—saying that they’re dating skews a little juvenile after everything they’ve been through, though, Wolfwood supposes, not in the worst way imaginable—but they’re close. Closer than two people who just mutually want to jump each others’ bones.
Wolfwood does want to jump Vash’s bones, though. Actually, he kind of wants Vash to get angry at him.

Wolfwood makes a habit of testing the boundaries of Vash's patience, and does so a bad day.

Deputy Josephson briefly halted next to Wolfwood, hands twitching for just a second. Wolfwood couldn’t help barking out a laugh at the mere sight. Too easy.
“You ever handled a man of my caliber before?” Wolfwood batted his eyes. “Not to worry, I’ve had my run around the block. I’ll be gentle.”

He just hadn’t expected it to happen quite so spectacularly.
The initial idea, prompted by a suggestion from an older noblewoman who’d commissioned him for something completely different, wasn’t bad at all. He’d been working on a set of singing stones, and the lady had made an offhanded comment about the potential of magic that could make an object resonate. She’d meant it as a joke, but where she saw humor, Olruggio saw potential—and told her as much.
And just like that, he’d had a commission. And a problem.

What they don’t tell you about surviving a near death experience is that it’s a real shit disturber. You don’t get to just get back up and jump around again like nothing changed. Pretty damn near it, physically, in Wolfwood’s case, but mentally? He didn’t think he was a shining example of well-adjusted pre-death, and dying hadn’t done him any favors.

“You can have my phone number,” he says, unscrewing the cap as Nicholas holds the bottle, “if you do as you’re told. Alright?”
Wolfwood nods silently, eagerly, and Vash pats him on the cheek with a sweet smile.
“Good boy. Now, drink.”

Nicholas fails to read the room. Vash uses his miscalculation to his advantage and makes Nick drink some damn water.
