“I’m not going to hurt you,” he whispered.
She froze.
His slow footsteps echoed, almost louder than his voice. “You get all stiff whenever I’m near you.”
It was true. She couldn’t help her instincts screaming at her to run every time someone larger than her was a little too close for comfort.
She finally looked up at him as he stopped a healthy distance from her. His eyes weren’t teasing or demeaning like they usually were, or angry like a few moments ago, but instead they were solemn and serious. “I’m not afraid of you,” she said.
“Believe me, you've made it clear I’m incapable of scaring you,” the corner of his mouth twitched up a fraction and dropped again. “I don’t know what you’ve been through, and you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to, but I won’t hurt you.”
She crossed her arms and studied the toes of her boots. It was unfair. He could read her thoughts in an instant, apparently, before she even knew them herself, and she still couldn’t figure him out at all.
“Just trust me, okay?”

“I guess so.” Dmitry double checked the angle.
“Well, now that you two are sleeping together, should I expect you to get along now? Or is the arguing a thing too?”
“Maybe…” Dmitry didn’t put the connotation of the phrase together fast enough. He blanched, his hand coming down hard on the handle of the stamp, creasing the paper. “No!” The word came out too loud as he shot to his feet, jostling the desk and bruising his knee. “It’s not— we’re just sleeping togeth— I mean— it’s not like that. We— we’re sharing a. We’re sleeping in the same spot. That’s all.”~~~
Dmitry is surprised when Anya decides to start sleeping with him to keep warm-- but like, not like that, they're literally just sleeping. It's purely platonic. He swears.
