Being a Beta sucks.
But when Rey needs money for her university tuition and rent, the biggest paycheck in town is at the Coruscant Estrus Support Center. Sure, scrubbing down heat rooms after they've been thoroughly wrecked by Alpha and Omega couples on their quarterly sex jamboree isn't glamorous, but cash is cash.
And admittedly, working with Ben Solo isn't terrible, even though she has no idea why he would take such a crappy job. Still, there's a certain solidarity after a summer of cleaning unspeakable messes. And hey, maybe there's even a possibility of finding love, too.

There are leaves in the tangle of her hair, dirt on her cheek and shoulder. She is covered in marks shaped like his mouth and his fingers. Her eyes are lowered, almost closed, and Ben didn’t know he could feel an urge this strong, or regret this vicious.
