Summary
Rumi had never thought too much about what her demon heritage meant beyond the shame it brought her. She could bury it with discipline and routine, yet instinct doesn’t wait for permission. The line between predator and protector is getting thinner. While Rumi tries not to cross it, something inside her already has.
Despite everything, she finds herself with skin in her teeth, blood soaking her hands, and Jinu unable to meet her eyes, a bitemark fading on his throat. As her patterns glisten and spread, she’s left asking a question she had never wanted to face: what if this is who she truly is?
What if being an “alpha” is what makes her a monster?
Or
It was assumed that the Golden Honmoon would be achieved before Rumi came of age, so there was no need to teach her how different demon biology was from that of a human’s. Jinu and her suffer the brunt of this ignorance while Gwi-Ma’s plans for them change.

Summary
Gwi-ma is absolute — or so they thought. Jinu has long since surrendered to the control of his God; it was useless to rebel against him when said God possesses all of Jinu's shame, and so, Jinu is obedient — until he saw otherwise.
Or, Jinu gets a glimpse of the future and things have changed.
Also, why is this Hunter so kind to him? It's making him feel funny.

Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

And somewhere in the silence, a question waits:
How far are you willing to go to unmake fate?
When Primordial offers him a chance to change the past, Jinu doesn't hesitate.
Perhaps he should have learned from Gwi-ma that bargains with powerful beings are never that simple.
