Summary
This is the last cycle and Magnus has carved a ring, cherry wood and inlaid with delicate jewels and just Taako’s size and he’s carried it with him every day. It had seemed right - whatever plane they ended their journey on, that would be home, and somehow they had to begin a life here, whatever that looked like. He couldn’t think of a better beginning to that life than marrying Taako. But they’d had to build their relics and distribute them, and it hadn’t been the right time, and then they’d heard about the destruction they were causing to the world below and it wasn’t the right time. And now Lup is gone, and it isn’t the right time.

He nearly laughs, or he would if it didn't hurt immensely; for years home has ubiquitously meant the Astral Plane, but now he’d thought of home and brought himself here, to Taako’s feet.

God, but Kravitz does love them both, and he loves Magnus and Taako loving each other, even if their love for each other was built on their shared love for Taako, right now he doesn’t think it matters how they got here. This is what matters: the bed they share that Magnus built, Taako sprawled and snoring softly between them, and that they will wake up together in the morning, every morning.

Magnus tries to hold Taako’s hand as they walk back to their room and while it was different in the dark Taako can't quite get himself to do it in the bright, fluorescent lighting of the hallways. But he feels Magnus’s presence at his back like he has an entire sixth sense that is devoted to him; Magnus, solid and consistent and safe, Magnus who has been teasing him with little touches all night, a hand at the small of his back, tucking his hair behind his ears. Looks with fire behind them.

“All of it.” He lifts his head and regards you, in a way that reminds you, perhaps blasphemously, of the way your Raven Queen regards you, like they don’t need to look at your body because they can see your soul just fine. “Think I’ll keep you.”

They never talk about it during the day. But now Kravitz is a thing, and that’s like two planes colliding, Taako has no idea how to reconcile the two, he just wants everything too much.
