Summary
In truth, the lamb has never asked him for anything. Never asked for more power, never asked for favors like so many vessels before them. They take only what is freely offered, from him and from the followers, and yet they receive in abundance. The followers worship them willingly, their allies offering gifts and treasures in exchange for mere trinkets. He had given them power freely, more than any vessel before them.
Perhaps that is what had made them so strong.
Perhaps it is why he had let them kill him.

The man gulped, nervously glancing toward Avery’s mate with a look reminiscent of someone silently seeking permission, before quickly looking at Avery again. “An aphrodisiac… specifically made for omegas.”
Oh.
“Oh.” Avery took a moment to let that sink in, subsequently realizing that he, in fact, did not mishear it the first time. “Um,” Avery cleared his throat, suddenly feeling awkward. He couldn’t help but laugh at the situation as his mind started scrambling to find a solution to minimize whatever was brewing in the situation. “Is that what it was? I’m a beta, it can’t be that—”
As soon as Avery revealed his second gender, or lack thereof, the man instantly went pale, just as Derek’s hand tightened in his.
“—bad.” Just like that, seeing the man’s reaction made Avery feel even more anxious, brewing quietly in his stomach. Avery gulped, his back suddenly growing damp, and phew, was it just him, or was the weather becoming hotter than usual?

Temi had her braids, Koka clearly took good care of hers, and even Aniel did something with hers. Hells, they traded in wool. Having wool meant something to them. It should mean something to Elohim too. They wanted it to mean something.
That morning, Elohim decided to grow out their wool.
They have no idea how to care for it, until Narinder offers his help and they grow closer as a result.

“Names have power,” the god examines them passively, the claw on his thumb playing idly with the bell on their collar. “Why do you believe it is that you cannot recall your own, vessel?”
The One Who Waits can feel ten different emotions crashing over them at once, and for a moment the careful construction of their features breaks under the weight of despair.
Interesting. It is knowledge the host of divinity should already be privy to, as an extension of his own will. The death of identity in service of a higher power is something few will ever have the privilege to experience, not even his past vessels were granted such a right.
Admittedly, none of his former vessels came to him in death. Sacrifices must be made, and made willingly, to build the trust and steadfast devotion needed for his ultimate freedom. The Chained God knows now he’s been too lenient, but such oversights will be corrected shortly.
This next part he wants to savor.
