“I’m sitting on carpet, there’s a pillow under where I’m kneeling, your fingers refuse to squeeze my throat, I’m resting against your thigh, you’re playing in my hair and drinking tea because I asked you to.” Simon rambles on frantically, trying to make Johnny understand, “I’m safe.”
Silence hangs in the air, thick between them.
“That’s what that was. It… I just.” Simon pauses; he needs to take a breath, if only to try to make sense of the words that jumble in his brain.
“It hit me that I’m safe.”

Ghost has been hard at work tackling his aversion to touch since the 141 came together. He’d been irate the first time Soap and Gaz tried casually throwing an arm around him. He had felt repulsed, nauseous, scared…
Warm. Comforted.
It took him a few weeks to admit to himself and his therapist that physical touch was a love language he has been severely starved of.
Thankfully it’s a language that his squad is annoyingly fluent in. More often than not he loves being close to his team now.
Only Soap has this strange ability to make him crave more, though.

“It’s okay, we can stop here. We don’t have to continue if yae’re done, lovely.” Johnny whispers, giving Simon an out, letting him decide when they’re done.
Except Simon apparently doesn’t want that.
“Can we try?” Simon’s not pleading, not exactly, but there’s an edge to his tone, and it’s… “I want to be good for you.”
