Summary
Vincent realizes suddenly that he's fallen in love with his Secretary of State, and then, shortly afterwards, realizes that he wants to have sex with said Secretary of State. This fic came about via a fic prompt about how awkward sex between these two would be, both virginal old men with zero experience and lots of Catholic guilt and repressed sexuality. It is really very fluffy and soft.

Summary
This series spans about a year, beginning a few weeks into shooting and ending just before the big Guardian promo tour. It can be considered complete, but finds a gentle continuation in the Tactical Advantage series, which is set about two years later and adds Zhu Yilong's The Rebel co-star Wang Yang to the mix.
To my absolute delight, this series has been painstakingly typeset by lunarriviera and is available in book form (as a print-on-demand paperback). It's sold with zero markup, so nobody but the big smiling a makes any money off its existence. The ASIN is B0B5KVJH1V if you want to look for it.

Grilka likes talking to the elf, despite his grief. Somehow it feels like talking to an old friend.

“Oh, wow, yeah, see, this is way better,” Wei Wuxian says. “Jiang Cheng, here, c’mon—”
Jiang Cheng makes a confused noise, then squawks and drops his weight unhelpfully as Wei Wuxian tries to haul him forward by his grasp on Jiang Cheng’s bloodstained belt. “What? No! Are you crazy? I’m not sleeping with Lan Wangji!”
Lan Zhan, who had been striding across the clearing toward them, robes a-swirl, pulls up abruptly like he’s run into an invisible wall.

It’s Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji, rather than Jin Zixuan, who arrive at Qiongqi Pass as Jin Zixun is attacking Wei Wuxian. This turns out significantly better than it does in canon!
Unfortunately, during the attack, Jiang Cheng is hit with a curse that can only be healed with magic qi-transferring sex. And since Wei Wuxian, secretly coreless, can’t do it, he’ll just have to persuade Lan Wangji to step up instead.

A new voice cuts through the general merriment of the group. It’s light and casual and Lan Wangji sees the feet and legs of some of his tormentors turn in the direction of the voice. From the angle his head is at, he can’t see the newcomer at all. Blood loss and shock and pain are making his body heavy and his vision hazy and even his mind feels like it’s starting to slip away, yet even as far gone as he is he knows exactly to whom that voice belongs.
He would know that voice anywhere.
OR Lan Wangji is horrifically hurt during the sunshot campaign and when Wei Wuxian comes to his rescue /things/ end up coming out.

Wei Ying pulls off Chenqing. The note abruptly falters, going sharp as he blocks the blow intended for Lan Wangji.
The strike is strong and fast. The Wen’s knife is sharp. It takes Wei Ying’s body an endless, aching moment to realize it has been harmed. And then there’s blood, splashing hot across Wei Ying’s face and clothing.
Wei Wuxian is injured on the battlefield defending Lan Wangji. They both have feelings about it.
