Li Lun had rejected the offer to join the Demon Hunting Bureau on their latest mission, disinterested in spending any amount of time trying to solve whatever problem was plaguing the mortal residents of Tiandu. Whatever was happening to them was likely their fault, anyways. But he knew it was important to Zhu Yan and Zhuo Yichen, so he bid them farewell. Both had promised him that this would be an easy case and that they would be back in no time; Li Lun wasn’t bothered that they would be gone. He had spent plenty of time alone, sometimes even seeking out solitude. It would be fine.
