In fair Minnesota, where our story takes place, there are two hockey teams, both equally talented. From their old rivalry there is an outbreak of new fighting when the hockey season begins. A pair of ill-fated lovers from the opposing teams abandon hockey altogether. The teams lose their captain and best player, putting an end to their fighting. Now, for the duration of this, we will present a story of their love and resignation, which was the only thing that could stop their teams’ rage. “There is no lore!” Arasha snaps. “We were neighbors growing up, that’s all! Didn’t any of you have friends before college?”
“He’s like her ‘one that got away,’” Angela explains, and Amanda hums knowingly.
“She never shuts up about him. You should hear her when she’s tipsy,” Chanse stage-whispers. He puts on a falsetto voice, batting his lashes and sighing like an Old Hollywood damsel. “‘Ooh, I wonder what Trevor’s up to! Do you think Trevor would answer if I called? I wish Trevor was here so I could kiss his stupid tall face—”
“I do not sound like that!”

But losing Bombay wasn’t the only thing gnawing at him. If that had been the end of it, maybe Charlie could’ve found a way to deal with the change. Maybe he could’ve coped with Bombay leaving, telling himself they were growing up, that things changed, that he had to move forward. But losing Adam Banks? That was a whole different kind of pain.
