Summary
The second Edgar took F*ona’s hand into his own, the world seemed to stop around them. The heavy drops of rain that fell over the horizon were the least of F*ona’s concern as she let her eyes linger on the sight before her.
There was something about that br*tish boy galloping in soggy weather that she couldn’t tear her eyes from. The warmth of his hand felt so real, and the comfort of his embrace made her feel giddy, though it might be due to indigestion. The two of them sprinted at full speed, hand in hand, as if there were a liquor store in the distance.

He doesn’t expect to see someone staring back.
Alhaitham doesn’t startle. Just—freezes. Creep, he thinks.
Alhaitham is annoyed and overwhelmed from the construction and its loud noises on the roof above his office. However, he finds one light in the situation: a man who routinely appears outside his window, clad in a highlighter-colored vest and hard hat.

Structures also exist to inspire. Most will outlive their creators - and while I agree they should not be designed purely for vanity, that does not mean they must lack aesthetic.
