Summary
Then: A younger Spider-Man is trapped in a collapsed building with a handsome older doctor who tells him he can change the world with or without powers.
Now: MS4 Dennis Whitaker has officially hung up his mask and spandex in order to train under Dr. Robby at PTMC, not realizing their day together years ago meant as much to the older man as it did to him. Then, during the PittFest MCI, Robby breaks down and blames Dennis/Spider-Man for not stopping it.
Among the horrors of the ED, super-hero life, and, well, the United States, a spark ignites between Dennis and Robby. But how will these two momentous events shape the men and their relationship?
– or –
Dennis is Spider-Man. This is really messing with his residency hours (and Dr. Robinavitch’s blood pressure).

Summary
“Nervous?”
“Why would I be nervous?” Dennis asked, keeping his voice neutral.
“Hmm, yeah. I wonder why.” Trinity couldn’t have made the sarcasm any more obvious.
He didn’t acknowledge it, hoping she’d drop it. Of course he knew why he would be nervous. He was nervous. But he wasn’t going to let Trin in on that. She was annoying enough as is.
He stared out the window of the bus. He had no idea what to expect of today. Neither from himself or from Robby.

Dennis returns to the Pitt after seven months. Seven months after he'd gone home with Robby. Again. After seven months of no contact with the man.

Summary
Robby didn’t really know how he ended up at a karaoke bar playing never have I ever with his horde of 20-something coworkers, but he does know that Dennis has not taken a single shot. Robby knows it’s a little creepy paying this much attention to what his 27-year-old resident has and hasn’t done, but listen, he’s already given up most of his vices. He didn’t go on his “spirit quest”, instead, he spent three months going to therapy twice a week and a support group on the weekends. He hasn’t been on the other side of the rail on the roof in almost six months. He even bought a helmet for riding his motorcycle and wore it today. So, if he’s a little extra attentive to his church mouse of a resident, then so what? He needs something.
or Robby makes it his personal mission to show Dennis what he's been missing out on.

Summary
Dennis Whitaker is tired.
He's also mysteriously sizing up in scrubs, wearing long sleeves in June, wincing when he thinks no one is looking, and sporting bruises that make Michael Robby’s years in trauma medicine scream that something is very, very wrong.
Dennis insists he’s fine. Which, unfortunately, is exactly what people say when they aren’t.
As Robby quietly spirals through every worst-case scenario imaginable, Trinity Santos is busy roasting everyone in sight, Abbott wonders if emotional stupidity qualifies for hazard pay, and Dennis just really wishes people would stop asking questions.
After all, he’s fine.
Really.
(He just happens to spend his weekends getting checked into walls for fun.)
Or: Michael Robby sees bruises and immediately makes it everyone’s problem. Dennis Whitaker discovers that hiding hockey injuries from an attending with twenty-five years of trauma experience is harder than surviving beer league playoffs.
Happy reading!
