Summary
Dan Feng is forced to reside in a brothel for a week. To his distaste, it’s a specialty house whose courtesans are feline shifter slaves. The accommodations do meet his standards though and he can do paperwork just as well here as anywhere else, while the courtesan he chooses gets to rest and relax—a good deal all around.
Ren is a ‘courtesan’ that has murdered two clients and served none, slated for disposal. He trusts no one and will gladly slaughter any other clients he is given. But the one this time is like none of the previous… What kind of lunatic does paperwork in a brothel?
“You’re being very cruel, you know.”
Dan Feng’s head jerks up. “I’m being cruel?” His voice rises in absolute outrage. The sheer hypocrisy of Ren's statement when he’s been tormenting Dan Feng without reprieve.
Ren waves at Dan Feng. “You’re just sitting here, withholding your cock from me when I’m in heat—”

Stelle winced internally. "But anyways, I promise Dan Heng isn't normally like this! Okay, he's pretty quiet most of the time. But he definitely isn't this murderous! Actually wait, that's a lie. There's this one dude— Blade. But he's insane. Silverwolf says he won't play co-op with her even though he's such a good gamer. Anyways! Those two fight so often I can't tell if they actually hate each other or if it's some weird foreplay. One time I saw Dan Heng stab him in the chest and walk away from his dead body and then literally an hour later they were cuddling. But then he snapped at me when I asked if they were mates! How rude!" Belatedly, she realized she probably shouldn't be talking about murder and foreplay to a random child. Ugh. Where was March when you needed her?

It has been centuries since they last shared a kiss, when in a desperate attempt to save his beloved he breathed life into him and condemned him to an eternal life, their kiss was passionate and desperate, attempting to put all his love into a single moment before his change slipped away. His beloved was barely alive and couldn’t respond more than opening his mouth tilting his head.
In contrast this kiss was slow, just their lips barely touching as they relaxed into each other. Blade wasn’t able to process what was happening for a minute but his body responded the way it always did. Opening his mouth and letting his forked tongue explode familiar places.
It took Blade a few minutes to separate from the kiss and another minute before he could ask, “… Why did you do that?” He took an angry breath as he tried to comprehend why someone who he dispirited could still make him crumble with a slow kiss.
“I wanted to,” he answered simply as he sucked down Blade’s neck, attempting to mark him as his for a brief moment.

Summary
Dan Heng kneels in front of him. There’s a hint of worry in his eyes as he starts peeling off the bandages, revealing what Blade does not want to be seen. Beneath the stained dressing, marred skin and bruises and wounds from early battles tell a story of wartimes. Blade can only tell when and how he got the newest ones; the oldest, though, have been a part of him for too long already. A blade can be repaired, but it can never return to its original state; it will always become a new sword, a new spear, one born from another weapon that had fought for too long.
Blade doesn’t look at his own skin. Instead, he watches Dan Heng’s reaction. The other man carefully looks at Blade’s torso, his face twisting at times, but never daring to raise his eyes. Some of these scars, Blade remembers, were made by him. He has imprinted himself onto Blade’s body by plunging Cloud Piercer into his heart. That’s why Blade didn’t want him to look at the current state of his skin. Old wounds can still be reopened.
In which Dan Heng changes Blade’s bandages and Blade relearns how it feels to be touched.
