"Alpha Choi Soobin, I'm Agent Huening Kai, and I'm here to take you to the den.” He said with that pretty voice of his and no, Soobin was not obsessed. “Will you come with me, please?"
Gladly, Soobin wanted to say. He took in the agent's appearance; tall built, broad shoulders, perfectly cut suit, immaculate, military bearing, calm exterior. Then he took in his features; deer-like eyes, rosy cheeks, thin but plump lips, pale skin framed with smooth dark hair. He looked like the personification of winter; deadly, ethereal, but at the same time, delicate. Everything about him screamed to be taken apart until he could only think of one person, one Alpha to take control of his entire being.
And that Alpha would be him.
(Oh well, maybe he’s a bit obsessed with this omega in front of him.)

"A fucking email?!" Soobin tears right into him, not caring that the younger man is clearly groggy with sleep. "I get a fucking email?!"
"Soobinie," His boyfriend whispers to the receiver, sighing tiredly, but then his resignation turns into indignation. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"
"It's a clobbering time, that's what time it is!" Soobin seethes. "Why didn't you call to tell me this shit, Kai?"
"Because I knew you'd be angry," Kai defends his choice of action petulantly.
"For future reference: knowing that what you have to say will upset me is precisely the reason why you should call to tell me, not say it in a goddamn email."
(There is no doubt in Soobin's mind that his relationship with Kai is the most important thing in his life, and instinctively he decides that everything has to make way for them to be together. All Soobin wants for his life is to be with Kai – for a hundred days, even for more than that, he yearned to just be with him again. Why would Soobin ever sacrifice that for a one-in-a-million chance at becoming an artist?
He’s never been so wrong.)

The blond-haired man scoffs. "The purpose of a dating profile is to present yourself as a datable individual, who isn't weird at all for falling back to online dating in the first place. So in your case: be a little less you."
"Yeonjun!" Soobin whines and drops his head down, cradling his face in his arms on the kitchen table.
"Start over," Yeonjun orders; he leans over and promptly deletes the short personal essay Soobin had written about himself. "Write about where you grew up, about your hobbies and what you are looking for in a partner. Something normal. Pretend to be a respectable person."
Soobin twists his neck and peers up at the stern older man, his expression pinched. "That sounds exhausting."
Yeonjun smacks him upside the head.
(Soobin just wants a boyfriend, that's all. Apparently getting someone who would binge-watch food networks with you also means saying hi to your previous fuck-ups and facing the damned life you'd left behind.
How wonderful.)

"I know love. I've loved someone, genuinely loved him." He pauses briefly to push back the powerful memory. "But not more than I love you."
It’s hard for him to breathe, suddenly his lungs are full of water and he keeps breathing through his mouth to release the tension around his chest. Soobin wants to cry but he holds it in.
"And I lost that person because I thought choosing you over him would mean something to you. But clearly I was wrong."
(Soobin sacrifices everything to make things right between him and his father. He puts his life on hold so as not to offend him, to not add insult to injury. He has had relationships fail because he wouldn't introduce them to his parents and he could never spend Christmas with them because every year he has to try to fix something that couldn't be fixed and he can't help but wonder if anything ever going to make a difference, when it's only him who wants to change.)

A bad choice; according to the testimony of Omegas who had gone through this scenario.
"Hello and welcome to the Omega's Office, I'm Yoona, your host. How may I help you?"
Kai gulped and walked forward.
(Huening Kai went to the auction expecting to be bought by some random Alpha and became a part their harem forever. Instead he was shoved into a world of royalty and dirty politics and four Alphas who couldn’t seem to leave him alone.)
