A common misconception about fate is that it’s unalterable. The future isn’t set in stone: it’s set in clay, and if you act quickly you might be able to shape it before it sets. Of course, that rarely works, but it’s hardly the prophet’s fault you took too long to seek their advice, is it? It’s hardly Cassandra’s fault nobody believes her prophecies, is it?!
The thing about prophets is that there’s technically nothing stopping them from taking a more proactive approach. Apparently, Cassandra of Troy is the first to realise this.

When May Castellan tried to become the Oracle of Delphi, the curse broke her mind. Only, it didn't. It just awoke the memories of her past life.
Unfortunately, she doesn't remember much from that book series she read as a kid. Which is kind of a problem when her son is Luke Castellan. She's pretty sure that he's a major player in the series, but all she knows about him is that he was possessed by Kronos and sacrificed his life to stop him.
So when she sees a god standing over him, of course she does the sensible thing and runs as far away as possible.
