what it says on the tin.

bat is just the sort of guy who lends himself to a sorta blob look, ya know.
This was reserved for blobs but I can’t help myself, so now it has more bat art too.

    Summary

There are men turning up dead in the woods, and Chief of Police Charlie Swan has a job to do—figure out what, or who, left the poor bastards torn up as they are. Chief of Police Charlie Swan is too old for this mess. Too old and too sick of this shit to pretend Forks is just a sleepy old rural town anymore. Between the gruesome corpses and the quiet, unsettling doctor Cullen who shows up like a statue in pressed slacks, lying through his teeth, Charlie’s got more questions than answers—and no one seems too keen on giving him either.

Charlie’s trying not to notice how his breath catches when the doc gets too close. He’s also trying not to notice how the bodies keep piling up, unsolved. Neither effort is going particularly well.

And if one more person tells him it was a bear, he’s going to shoot something. Probably not a bear.

    Bookmarker's Notes

His hands were steady on the wheel as he came out onto the main road. His posture was upright. Hell, if anyone passed him, they would’ve seen nothing unusual. Just Chief Swan heading home after a long shift.

Inside his head, though—inside his very skull, something had cracked wide open.

    Vampires.

    ——

Charlie stood there, chest heaving, watching the image Carlisle was so deeply ashamed of, the image he thought would send him running. But here, in the silent, snow-laden clearing, Charlie couldn’t look away.

    Summary

At this stage, Maekar is close to grinding his own teeth into dust, ripping out his hair and locking all his sons in their rooms until they’re old. He’s at his wits end with all of them, not only Aerion’s flagrant cruelty and pride, Aegon’s unending insolence and Daeron’s incomprehensible babbling, but now the Gods have chosen to chase what’s left of Maekar’s sanity with an unending monotony of the most insufferable blasted day of his life.

or, a time loop fix it with a bunch of angst for Maekar who is literally done with these Gods and his dumbass children.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The horn sounded. Maynard shifted in his saddle. The destrier stamped, eager.

    Who cometh?

The horn came again. The crowd held its breath.

    Cometh Morning. What cometh?

The third horn. He spurred the horse.

    Cometh Dawn.
