Summary
Dark, ominous clouds of smoke covered the compound. Buildings that had previously stood tall were now mere piles of rubble. Bodies—probably hundreds—wearing black hooded cloaks flooded the pathways. Flame watched in horror as the once-polished white and gold banners hanging from the rooftops fluttered to the ground, stained with dark red blood. Men screamed, and buildings crumbled. Thunder rumbled loudly in Flame’s ears as bullets of rain began to pierce his back. He sucked in a breath as reality came crashing down all at once.
The base was under attack.
But there was only one thing, or person, he had in mind.

Summary
Swans are known to kill injured cygnets. While the most likely explanation for this is to avoid dragging predators to the nest, it's almost like mercy killing if you look at it from a human perspective.
The Admins say they chose to call him Swan because he's a family man. He supposes he can be like a swan in another way too if pushed.
