Lestat’s eyes pinned him down, searching and searching and searching. There was something fractured in his gaze. If Daniel could just right his mind to seize it—but the words did not come. Always swift and savage, words had never failed him before, and still they did not come.

Originally posted December 2024. A missing scene from 1x06. Daniel's questioning leads Louis to reconsider his own turning and the unspeakable phantoms that haunted his family.
He felt the pulse of his hunger quicken, and his mouth parted without volition. Something inexplicable passed over Lestat’s face as he held his gaze, eyes wide with anticipation.
Louis was upon him in an instant, teeth sinking into his flesh with a ferocity he had not felt since that night in the church, his thirst an unquenchable and animal thing. And Lestat allowed it, a lamb at the altar, no resistance—just a hand tenderly placed across Louis' chest as he was devoured.

"Your tricks. Tonight at the card table." His tone betrayed little of accusation nor, surprisingly, fear.
"You did not like them?"
"N'ver said that. Got me a clean sweep, I ain't complainin'." Louis leaked a bashful grin at the reminder of their shared secret. His face looked youthful, unburdened in the soft ambers of the street light, and it took restraint for Lestat not to take him right then and there.
"Well, a magician cannot unveil his tricks so easily can he?" Louis didn't press, simply tipped his ashes in acknowledgement. "Ask me next week, Louis."
"And what - you'll reveal your tricks to me?"
Lestat flashed a devious grin. I'll reveal many things to you.

Finally binged and loved Interview with the Vampire (in defense of late blooming, I'm sadly, highly squeamish).
The only thing I wish for are longer Loustat scenes. Here in my fantasy headcanon (without budget or time constraints), I offer extended/deleted Loustat scenes, starting with their courtship in 1x01.
